IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

DECEMBER 1ST 2006: WORLD AIDS DAY
RESPONSIBILITY.TV® LAUNCHES THE “CREATE YOUR OWN HIV/AIDS OR VIDEO-MESSAGE INITIATIVE”

RESPONSIBILITY.TV® , launched by the non-profit e-volutionS last August at the AIDS 2006 Conference in Toronto, adheres to the World AIDS Campaign, WAC, and promotes the “CREATE YOUR OWN HIV/AIDS SPOT OR VIDEO-MESSAGE INITIATIVE.”
The WebTV on the Promotion of a Sustainable Future and Development through the Spread of a Social and Environmental Responsibility Culture, tackles the HIV/AIDS pandemic as a collective problem and a responsibility of all.
On December 1st, World AIDS Day, RESPONSIBILITY.TV® invites people (especially youth) to create an Awareness Raising Spot or a Video-Message on HIV/AIDS in order to support the World AIDS Campaign.
The video will preferably have to reiterate the Slogan of the Campaign -STOP AIDS. KEEP THE PROMISE - and the theme of the year 2006– ACCOUNTABILITY .
The World Health Organization estimates that as of 2006 39.5 million are living with HIV/AIDS. In 2006 alone, there have been 4.3 million new infections of which 2.8 millions (65%) happened in Subsaharian Africa. A heavy increase of new cases (more than 50% since 2004) is occurring also in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. In 2006 there have been 2.9 million deaths because of the virus. In North America and in Western and Central Europe the total number of HIV positive people keeps on increasing, although less are dying thanks to the antiretroviral drugs. (UNAIDS/WHO)
“ RESPONSIBILITY.TV is a WebTV based on content, not on looks ” explains Ms. Valentina Biagini, co-founder of RESPONSIBILITY.TV® and President of e-volutionS , “one does not have to be a professional , she continues, “it is enough to possibly wear red, symbolic colour of the campaign, grab a cellular phone with a video-camera, use a small consumer camera or even a webcam, and launch a message on the HIV/AIDS issue and on the responsibility that leaders and/or people in general must take in order to stop the pandemic by 2015. This is the date by which the entire world promised to end AIDS ”, she continues.
The best videos of the initiative, beside being included within the On-Demand Portal, www.responsibility.tv , and the Peer-to-Peer Channel of RESPONSIBILITY.TV® (accessible through the same Portal), will be linked to the World AIDS Campaign site and diffused through various channels and connected spaces.
”It is very easy to join the initiative” , says Ms. Biagini, “one just needs to send us the video via e-mail at or uploading and posting it within the YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/responsibilitytv ) or MySpace.com ( http://www.myspace.com/responsibilitytv ) spaces we have created ”, she concludes.

Beside the video initiative, on December 1st RESPONSIBILITY.TV® launches its own HIV/AIDS spot made out of fragments filmed for the AIDS 2006 Conference Special . The video, introduced by a curious virtual character, is meant to give voice and visibility to the requests of some of the 25.000 or so participants of the Conference and to put the accent on the fact that the pandemic hits, especially in Africa, the most potentially productive people of Society: those between the age of 20 and 45.

The message of the RESPONSIBILITY.TV® HIV/AIDS Spot is : “It’s time to act and deliver. Keep the promise and hold yourself accountable!”
The “Create your Own Initiative” will last until December 31st 2006
